With the 2012 election coming up everyone is talking about who the
republican nominee is going to be. I'm thinking either Rick Santorum or Mitt
Romney. Why? Because I think those are the two that might stand a chance
against Barrack Obama. I heard on the radio (FOX or CNN maybe?) on my way home
one time that when Obama got elected he said something about the huge debt
George Bush acquired when he was in office...a whopping 3 trillion dollars in 8
years. Now Obama has acquired like what...almost soon to be 14 trillion?
Whatever. The current debt is rising to 15 trillion as I type this!
The stocks seem to be okay. Netflix has gone down dramatically due to the
company splitting in half. Why would I know? Because there is this crazy game
that my teacher has my class play online, with real stocks, shares, etc. but
fake money (thank goodness) and I bought some Netflix and it went down like
30.0% in just a few days? Crazy. The stock market is fairly unpredictable. I
would be winning out of my class if I didn't but Netflix. Oh well, I've got
Google and Apple so I'll just hang onto Netflix and hope it goes up again.
In this crazy world only one thing will stay the same. "Jesus Christ is
the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8 ). Just keep
trusting him and depending on him and no matter what happens in 2012. Who cares
about who becomes the next president, how much more debt we acquire, how
much lower the stock market goes, or if the world really does end? God will
stay the same.

Sophia Stoddard says...
I know this is quite an old post but I would like to commend you on your Christ-centered outlook as described in the third paragraph, that we can trust God even through ungodly leadership. Like Psalm 22:28 says, "For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations." I used to be anxious about the election, but God has taught me to trust Him; that now I can face the elections with confidence, knowing that I serve a sovereign God. This post was a good reminder for me. Keep up the great work with Wingslikeagles David!
