One of the most common phrases made by kids and teenagers, even adults today is, "Life's not fair!" or "That's not fair!". I wonder what they would think if God made life fair? If life really were fair then all of us would die and go to hell, end of question, because we are all sinners in need of a savior. But because life isn't fair and because Jesus paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross, we can have a relationship with God though Jesus.
Even though we were born deserving death, God gave us a free gift of eternal life, only through Jesus. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The next radical step for you today would be to make life as fair as you possibly can for everyone else, and in turn for yourself, unfair. Be willing to serve and help others, treat them better then you do yourself, no matter how they treat you back.

You're exactly right, David. Our sinful human nature wants to be first; the last thing we are is humble and willing to put others first. Somehow we seem to think that we are in a position to hold God accountable for what's fair and what isn't. That was Job's problem, too, and lots of other people in the Bible, and it's still a problem for many of us today. But all we need to do is look at Jesus, hanging at the cross. Amazingly, if life EVER wasn't fair, it was when he was crucified. But he didn't complain. Amazing! He was willing to be treated unfairly so we can receive what isn't fair and be forgiven of our sin. Thank you, Jesus!
