Does God want me to have a boyfriend/girlfriend? If so how far should I go? How should I treat my annoying siblings? How can I glorify God through all my relationships? Should I obey my boss even if he says to do something I disagree with? These are the types of questions that people struggle with every day. We’re made for relationships with other people and our culture tells us how our relationships with others are supposed to be and it’s very important to know what the Bibl...

Tory sat nervously in the pew at church and waited for Pastor Chad to call her up. She was SO nervous! She ran over what she was going to say in her mind. Pastor Chad summoned Tory to the stage, but she could not move. She was frozen with fear! He cleared his throat and called her again. This time Tory stood up and walked to the stage. Pastor Chad introduced her and handed her the microphone. Tory took a deep breath and as she did, thoughts of everything that happened to get her to th...

Do you know what it's like when there's tons of pressure in
to be perfect? And you know what your parents expect from you, but your friends expect another thing from you, and still others want you to do and act differently?
But above all that you know that you should only care what God expects and
thinks of you?
Sometimes it's hard to remember that. Especially when you
already have a busy enough life as it is. And just about when you think you’ve
had it w...

With the 2012 election coming up everyone is talking about who the republican nominee is going to be. I'm thinking either Rick Santorum or Mitt Romney. Why? Because I think those are the two that might stand a chance against Barrack Obama. I heard on the radio (FOX or CNN maybe?) on my way home one time that when Obama got elected he said something about the huge debt George Bush acquired when he was in office...a whopping 3 trillion dollars in 8 years. Now Obam...

One of the most common phrases made by kids and teenagers, even adults today is, "Life's not fair!" or "That's not fair!". I wonder what they would think if God made life fair? If life really were fair then all of us would die and go to hell, end of question, because we are all sinners in need of a savior. But because life isn't fair and because Jesus paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross, we can have a relationship with God though Jesus.
Even though we were born de...

One thing I just don't get is that sometimes there will be a person who gets really popular, maybe because he or she is a singer or actor, and they at first claim to be a Christian and then they totally blow it by doing so many things that completely contradict God's word! I sometimes wonder if they were even Christians in the first place.
1 John 1:6 says, "If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth." Why are so man...

In the beginning there was an intelligent designer who created all things; he also created man for a relationship with himself. He loved man and gave him everything that he could ever desire. However, a serpent deceived the man and the woman to wrong their designer, and they turned away from him. The designer cursed the man and the woman and cast them out of the close relationship, the perfect life they had with him. The man and the woman were without hope until their ...

In my awesome small group class on Sunday mornings (Tyler Davis's Class) we read about "stupid yellow cows", or idols. Idols are anything that you put more priority on over God. They can be things or they can be desires, such as wanting to have to have the perfect day or wanting your parents trust you to do whatever you want. And obviously it's not wrong to want to have "the perfect day" or have your parents trust you, but when you wan...

When you wake up in the morning you probably get ready for the day (shower, brush your teeth, etc.), or at least I really hope you do! It's fine to brush your hair and put on make-up/cologne and try and look/smell nice, but if that is what you care about most, then something is wrong here! I just read Galatians 1:10 and it says:

Someone who is close to me just recently asked me, “Are you willing to work for anything?” I said, “Of course! I’m definitely willing to work for whatever ‘anything’ is! As long as it’s God’s will for me.” Whatever God has in store for me I will do, even if it takes me a while until I succeed.” You may ask: “OK, then, what is it that you think God has in store for you? What is it that he wants you to do?” I’m not su...
